Back in 2012, Pastor Steve had an idea to reach out to our community with free medical and dental care for all who were in need. As a result, AZ Sonshine was born and each year since, there have been multiple AZ Sonshine events throughout the state and internationally as well.
CEO – Randy Fields
Randy Fields is the pastor of the Desert Cove SDA Church and Buckeye SDA Church in Arizona. He was formerly a full-time Hospice Chaplain and is a member of the Property Acquisitions & Development Committee and the Camp Yavapines Committee at the Arizona Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. He has a burning desire to reach people for Jesus and believes that if we use Jesus’ method of meeting their physical needs first then they will be willing to listen to what we have to offer about Jesus and His love for each and every person.
Vice Chair – Michelle Ritzer
Treasurer, General Counsel – Russell Duerksen
Russell Duerksen has practiced law in the Yavapai County area for 30 years. He believes that law is his calling, and has a passion for serving the underserved, both medically and legally. He has been named Yavapai County’s “Pro Bono Attorney of the Year” on 2 occasions and currently serves as the District 4 member, on the Yavapai County Board of Health.
Spiritual Guidance – Pastor Tony Jasper
Pastor Tony is currently serving as pastor for the Prescott and Dewey-Humboldt Seventh-day Adventist Churches. He has 19+ years of pastoral ministry experience and ten years teaching all ages. He’s spent ten years on mission trips; he has helped organize many local community service projects for youth and young adult involvement. It is his prayer that AZ SonShine will be a blessing to those served as well as those serving and will ultimately glorify our Father in Heaven.
