WHO

Anyone may attend and receive services, except the Arizona SonShine volunteers working the event for that day. Volunteers may receive services on the day that they are not volunteering. There are no pre-qualifications or questions asked. However, it is on a first-come, first-served basis and services are sometimes limited. So, it is advised to come early. In previous years folk have begun lining-up more than 20 hours in advance.

YES. Due to the medical nature of the event, masks are required to be worn by guests, volunteers and providers.

Due to insurance restrictions, volunteers are only allowed to receive services on a day they are not working. Again, it is on a “first-come, first-served” basis, as all other guests.

The primary sponsor of Arizona SonShine is the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

HOW

We have had people get in line as early as 22+ hours before registration opens. If you are seeking dental services (which are in high demand), it is recommended that you arrive at least 3-4 hours prior to when registration opens up to have a better chance of receiving the services you need. However, there is no set rule or guarantee. Therefore, it is recommended that you use your best judgment and come by the Event Center and see how big the line is for yourself.

YES, camping outside of the event center is fine.

For each time a person waits in line they are allowed to receive one of the major two types of services ( DENTAL OR VISION). They can receive as many of the other types of services offered as there is availability.

It takes about 6 weeks for the glasses to be made. We will notify the guests of the exact date. Please provide accurate contact information for us at the event.

We will notify you after the event of the exact date and location.

WHAT

It is a two-day free medical event where a variety of medical, dental, vision, and other services are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

You will receive a “Return Authorization Certificate” to come back early the next day and have their services completed.

At this time, we request, only “Service Animals” will be allowed inside the Event Center.

WHEN
WHERE
WHY

1. The sponsors of Arizona SonShine wish to give back to their community and provide these services in order to be the “Hands and Feet of Jesus” to a community in need.

2. Also, there is a huge need for services that are not typically covered by today’s insurance plans.
